Fire Safety & Risk Assessment Workshop

Overview

One day workshop on Fire Safety & Risk Assessment was organized by Center for Enterprise Risk Management Pakistan (CERM Pakistan) in collaboration with Fire Protection Association of Pakistan (FPAP) on 21st August 2019 at Faletti's Hotel, Lahore.

Mr. Muhammad Imran Taj – president of FPAP highlighted implementation &enforcement of fire safety regulations in industries and consequences of non-compliance to the regulation. He discussed the seismic safety provisions in building codes and strides towards building resilient capacities for disaster management. He also outlined the essential components of Building Code of Pakistan Fire Safety Provision 2016.

Mr. Ahsan Jamal – Head of Learning & Development at CERM - Pakistan shared his knowledge on scope of fire risk assessment from insurer’s perspective. He emphasized the importance Fire Hazard identification, reduce the risk of those hazards as practically as possible and Implement physical &procedural fire protection and management systems to ensure safety of people and property. He discussed insurer’s key recommendations on Fire Protection System –Inspection, testing & maintenance.

He broadly covered topics on Fire Pre- plans, hot work permit & Fire Impairment procedures and Loss Estimation Methodology.
