Scot Peachey

Scot is the Power Construction Leader within the Global Energy & Power Practice of Marsh. After a career spanning over twenty years in the construction sector, he now finds himself dedicated full time to the placement and servicing of power construction risks including Nuclear, Hydroelectric, IGCC, CCGT, GT and Coal technologies. Maintaining a specialist in independent power plants (IPP’s), he spends his time advising clients on all aspects of insurance procurement, including contractual risk allocations, project finance, and the insurability of advanced technologies including gas turbines. In the last 6 years he has closed in excess of 75,000MW of power construction projects, securing insurance for many of the world’s leading edge technologies including those of Siemens, MHI, GE, Ansaldo and Alstom. Scots original background is in market placement, leading for many years the construction broking team of the Heath Lambert Insurance Group, before joining Marsh in 2006 as Head of Construction Placement.

Fawad Ali Khan
Sr. Advisor - Unique / Marsh Pakistan
Fawad has been involved with Risk and Insurance profession for the past decade; holds a Bachelors iFawad in
Mechanical Engineering (NEDUET) with a Masters in International Relations. He is an Associate of Risk
Management (US), an Associate Member of Institute of Fire Engineers (UK) and Institution of Mechanical
Engineers (US), A Construction and Risk Specialist from International Risk Management Institute and has
earned a Certificate in Insurance from Chartered Insurance Institute (UK). Working with insurers, reinsurance
brokers and risk engineering firms, he has also successfully executed assignments in Pakistan,
Dubai, Bangladesh, Iraq and London. Prior to joining the risk advisory team in Pakistan, Fawad was
working as a client executive with Willis Tower Watson in Dubai. Fawad specializes in providing end to end
risk transfer solutions and insurance advice. Currently a Senior Risk Advisor for project companies and
lenders, he focuses on Power and infrastructure projects. His current assignments also include insurance
risk advisory for Pakistan’s recently installed RLNG Power Plant.

Shamsul Islam
Company Secretary - The Hub Power Company Limited
Shamsul Islam joined The Hub Power Company Limited in 1999 in its Treasury Department and became
the Company Secretary in 2011. He is Head of Legal, Insurance, Public Relation and Shares department.
He possesses dual qualifications, engineering from NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi
and Masters in Business Administration from Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi. He is also
a Certified Director from Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance as per SECP’s Code of Corporate
Governance. Before joining Hubco, Mr. Islam worked as an engineer with Karachi Gas (now Sui Southern
Gas Co. Ltd), National Refinery and ENAR Petrotech. After his MBA in 1987 he worked in project finance
and monitoring initially with National Development and Finance Corporation (NDFC) and later with
Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of UK where he was responsible for a large portfolio in
Pakistan and Sri Lanka. He was also nominee director for CDC on the Board of various companies in the
chemical, sugar, plantation, power and financial services sector. Mr. Islam is a member of the American
Institute of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), member of, Pakistan Engineering Council and a Diploma Associate
of the Institute of Bankers in Pakistan.

Ali Asgher Khan

Huzefa Mazahir Ali
Principal, Transaction Advisory Servecies, Ernst & Young
Huzefa is a Principal in the Transaction Advisory Services department at EY Ford Rhodes and focuses on Infrastructure & Project Finance Advisory service line. He has successfully led and closed complex, multi stakeholder Project Finance and Public Private Partnership deals in sectors such as Energy, Roads, Transportation, and Healthcare representing both the government and the private sector. He has also worked closely with State Bank of Pakistan and played a role in the relaunch of Renewable Energy Financing policy and reviewed the Infrastructure Project Finance prudential regulations. Huzefa is Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter holder and holds MBA and BBA degrees in Finance from Institute of Business Administration, Karachi.
